The book is based on the experience of many years of creative work of Evgeny Mikhailovich Timakin (1916-2004), honoured teacher of the RSFSR and teacher of special piano at the Central Secondary Special Music School of the Moscow Conservatoire. The author considers important issues of professional education of a musician-pianist at the primary and secondary levels of education. The present edition, compared to the first one ("Soviet Composer", 1984), is supplemented with an Appendix containing publications in periodicals and reminiscences of pupils, as well as photographs of different years from the family archive; the book is accompanied by a DVD with a recording of lessons of the outstanding musician-teacher.
