The book by the Moscow Conservatory Professor I. Kuznetsov is the 2d issue of the "Polyphony in the 20th Century Music" treatise, which summarises the development of the multi-voice principles in European and American music of the 1st half of the 20th century.
This publication covers a wide range of issues related to the formation of new artistic forms of musical art at the turn of the century. It harmoniously combines creative portraits of the major composers of that epoch and a broad coverage of various phenomena that make up a bright, colourful picture of the artistic life of that time. The main style features of musical phenomena that influenced the formation of national schools and artistic traditions, in which the specificity of the cultures of Western Europe and America was manifested, are considered.
