The book is a collection of documentary materials about the great Russian composer, mostly published for the first time.
The central place is occupied by previously unknown letters of the composer,
his personal documents (including his will), as well as letters to his brothers.
Anatoly and Modest and others, which were omitted from the Complete Works. Other sections of the collection are also interesting, containing correspondence from the composer's parents, letters from his governess Fanny Durbach, and Tchaikovsky's musical jokes and gifts. All these materials greatly expand our understanding of Tchaikovsky the man and composer.
The book is decorated with rare photographs from the personal archives of Tchaikovsky and his family.
