"Voice" in European musical culture" is the third book of the fundamental work in four books "Towards a History of Western European Musical Intonation". The first book bears the title of the general theme (last edition - Deca-VS, 2011), the second book is called Gregorian Chant ("Musica", 2004). The cross-cutting theme of the third part is the musical voice. European musical speech at all stages and in all aspects is inseparable from the phenomenon of "voice", so a consistent study of this phenomenon - its substance and its millennial evolution - is, at the same time, a tool for studying the substance and internal evolution of the European musical organism itself. This publication contains the Introduction and the nine initial chapters of the part. The final two chapters and a number of additional contributions are to make up the next publication.
